Ateş çıkması durumu normal değerlerin üzerinde seyreden vücut sıcaklığının artması ve normalde daha yüksek hale gelmesine denir. Genellikle hastalık ya da mikrop, virüs tarzı durumlarda yükselen vücut sıcaklığı ilaç tedavileri sayesinde çoğu durumlarda düşürülebilmektedir.
Sabah yapılan ölçümlerde 37.2 derecenin üstü, öğlen yapılan ölçümlerde 37.7 derecenin üstündeki sıcaklıklarda genellikle ateşin çıkması olarak kabul edilmektedir.[1]
